“show”出真面目

在“show”出诸多英语单词后，“show”到了“秀”出自己真面目的时候。
Show的用法在英语中有很多，即可以作及物动词，又可以作不及物动词，还可以和名词、代词、副词等构成固定短语，表达特殊的含义。
一、 及物动词“show”：show 作为及物动词，后可以接名词、代词以及从句等，可以有不同的汉语意思。
Please show your ticket！  请把票拿出来。   Show：拿给人看
They want to show that they are right. 他们想表明他们是对的。  Show：说明、表明
Let me show you the way.   让我告诉你路。    Show：高速、指明
The students showed greatly interested in arts.
学生们对艺术表现出极大的兴趣。       Show：表现、显露
        They were showing this film at the Red Star.  
他们要在红星(影院)放映这部影片。      Show：放映、展出
        Let me show you out.      让我领你出去。    Show：带领
二、 不及物动词“show”：show作为不及物动词，可以和on、in等一起构成谓语。
What is showing on at the cinema?    电影院要上映什么？       Show on：上映
Her worry showed in her eyes.   她的担心在眼神里显露出来了。 
Show in：在……显露出来
        This painting showed better at a distance.   这副画远看效果要好一点。

三、 固定短语：
1、 show off：炫耀，表现自己
Don’t look at him, he is just showing off.   别看他，他只是在炫耀自己。
2、 show one’s face：露面
She is two shy to show her face before strangers. 
她太害羞了，不敢在陌生人面前露面。
3、 show oneself to be：表现的，确实是
He showed himself to be a great leader.  他的表现确实是杰出的领导人。
4、 show up：出席，出现
No one want to show up at the party.     没有人想出席这次晚会。
